Final Reflective Free Inquiry Blog Post

Overall I really enjoyed working on my free inquiry project. To begin with, I really enjoyed working on it as it allowed myself and my partner to go and see some very cool places in Victoria that I had never had the chance to see before, but wanted to explore. This made for some very fun study breaks that I am very appreciative for! However, from an educational stand point it was incredible to learn on the history of these places from a settler and Indigenous standpoint. So to be very honest, I think I enjoyed working on it more than I first thought I would.

My advice that I would give to future EDCI 336 students would be first off pick a topic in which you are interested in, therefore it will not feel like doing homework while completing it. However, more importantly ensure that it is applicable or relatable to your teaching area therefore you are educating yourself for becoming a teacher, all while still have fun completing it.

What I enjoyed the most during this project was going out and seeing places in which I wanted to see in Greater Victoria, and while doing that learning more history on these places.

The ED Tech tools that I believe were most useful during this project were largely using Youtube. The reason for this was due to many of the locations in which I visited and documented on had amazing Youtube video’s on them that helped show what they had to offer. I believe this was an inclusive feature as it allowed for those who wanted to visit but may not have the ability to do so the experience of seeing it as well.

My only regret while working on the project was that I did not get a chance to do a reflection on all of the places in which I visited. My next post was going to be on Goldstream Provincial Park which was my favourite place I visited I would say.

Here is a video showcasing the beautiful waterfall:

Lastly, please enjoy these photos I took of my remaining places I visited:
